After staying a couple of days in MN, we headed over to Chicago! Scott had a conference there, so we used it as an excuse to explore a new city. I'm not going to lie - Chicago was not my favorite. BUT, there were still a lot of cool things to see there and we learned a lot about the history. Here are a couple of pictures from Grant Park:
The Buckingham Memorial Fountain
We spent the afternoon in Millenium park while Scott was at the conference. The boys loved playing in the Crown Fountain:
Ice Cream! Rhys got to hold his first cone :)
The boys loved looking at themselves in the Cloud Gate sculpture!
We also did a lot of swimming in the hotel pool and ate lots of Chicago pizza! On the drive there and on the way home, we were lucky enough to find TONS of fireflies. I'd never seen one before - they are SO COOL!! After filling up with gas, we found a whole bunch of them flying around in the grass. The boys caught quite a few! It was a perfect break from the long drive home. Unfortunately, their little lights didn't show up very well in the pictures:
It was a great trip and we had so much fun being together as a family!
