I told you we had a lot of crazy travel these past couple of months! We'd been waiting to find good flights to Seattle so that we could ferry it up to Victoria and they FINALLY came through. Of course, we had to snag them and go immediately!
Here we are at 7am ready to get on the ferry (I know...not pretty).
Because of high winds, we had to take an alternate route through the islands, so our ferry ride was extended by 2 hours. Lovely! Rhys was thoroughly enjoying his alone time while the other boys slept:
As soon as we got in, Grandma and Bryson took us out to an awesome burger place. All the boys loved the flavoured ice cream cones!
Parker has been waiting SO long to go to this park (ever since Grandma told him about it last year). He was giddy!
He thought it was funny that "Parker Park" was a beach and not a playground. So beautiful!
I think Parker could have stayed to throw rocks all day!
Grandma also took us to an awesome bug museum - totally different from anywhere I've ever been. Most bug places just have lots on display, but this place actually gave you a tour and you HELD all the bugs!! So cool:
This guy was ginormous:
The walking stick from A Bug's Life!
Loved these eyes:
These are my favorite beetles, the "Feigning Death" beetles. They're a dusty blue and so cool! I think Parker thought this one really was dead...
This walking stick is huge!!
They had the coolest ant farm I've ever seen! They were leaf cutter ants and you could see every part of the cycle:
Then we took a walk in downtown Victoria. There's so much history there!
In front of the Empress:
Parker and Landon on the way to lunch:
We drove up to Craigsdarroch Castle - such a cool history!
Then to another park. The boys loved this Octopus:
Victoria is truly gorgeous!
And we had LOTS of fun at Grandma's house. The cinnamon toast crunch "accidentally" got knocked over. YAY! (hurry before Grandma wakes up!)
Deviled egg sandwich. Oh yes he did.
Playing with Rhys! The video kind of lets you see how beautiful my Mom's house was (they sold it a few weeks ago). I was so glad to see it before they moved out!
Rhys loved Uncle Scott:
One of our last stops was an aquarium full of the sea creatures in Victoria. Stacey, Landon and Parker went under...
There was a water conservation wall....glad I'm not this guys wife! (Sorry Kurt)
Rhys thought these glasses were pretty awesome!
Grandma totally hooked the boys up with a bunch of souvenirs (they still play with those little animals all the time!) and we went out to walk along the water. That quickly turned into jumping the rails on the path and throwing more rocks with Bryson and Scott:
Such a beautiful view! Love this little guy:
Ready to go!
We hopped back on the ferry and were on our way home! We stayed the night in Seattle and then went home early the next morning. Such a great trip - thanks Grandma, Grandpa, Stacey, Scott and Bryson!!
