Last of Costa Rica

I had to finish up my Costa Rica pictures since I use this blog as a family journal of sorts. (I printed off my first blog book last spring and it's awesome!!). So, sorry if this is boring to...well...all of you!

When all the kids were tuckered out from playing on the beach, Scott read a few stories to them. I don't think he's ever been surrounded by so many kids!

Kristy and Zach booked us an awesome zipline tour. It was perfect for us - relaxed with guides that would let the kids try whatever they wanted! Here are Landon and Parker getting suited up:

This is one of my new favorite pictures:
Our whole group ready to go!
Here's some of us ready to get on the line (I think Parker and I had already gone):
Me and Parker - he was slightly terrified at first!
The guide took a lot of these photos and, for some reason, the camera got on a weird setting, so these pictures are horrible. Landon went all by HIMSELF!

After the zipline we played at the beach....beach, and more beach! Here are some pictures we took of the kids:
The adults even went on a date - we found a really delicious restaurant right on the beach. The soup was AWESOME! Zach and Kristy had their housekeeper Gretyl watch the kids - she was so sweet. Parker told me that he thought she was beautiful :). And - get this - babysitters in Costa Rica for SEVEN KIDS only cost about $3 an hour. What!?!? So crazy.

This little guy hung out by our table for most of the night. I was so tempted to catch him and take him home to show the kids:
One of the few sunsets we caught, since it was usually raining in the evening:
This is where the kids spent most of every afternoon: the tide pools! When the tide pulled out for the day, these rocks and pools were left on the beach. They were perfect for the little kids!
There was lots of jumping off the rocks:

Lots of running on the beach (the kids often recruited Zach to play tag around the pool - so funny):

Lots of climbing:

Brotherly love:
Here's most of the kids (Parker wouldn't climb up for the photo, little stinker):
We took some family photos:

And here's my handsome man. He had to wear this sunshirt for our last few days - his back got fried making volcanoes the day before!
Landon and Parker insisted on taking off their sunshirts for the last half of the trip (so they could be like their friends). As you can see, there was a slight skin tone difference:
Parker LOVED playing on the beach:
We even did some boogie boarding. I forgot how fun that is! Parker liked the shallow water:
Landon practicing up:

Parker hiding the boogie board so I wouldn't go out "too deep" anymore:
Landon riding a big wave:
And that was the end of that! He stayed shallow from then on...
Kristy and I got a lot of time to go out and board sans children. It was so fun!
I am SO glad we were able to take this trip. SO glad that was planned and paid off before we bought the house (since it wouldn't have happened the other way around!) and so grateful for our friends for opening their home to us. Zach and Kristy are moving to California in a few weeks and we are really going to miss them. I guess that means we'll just have to look for more adventures :)

Our New House

Ok, we still do not have everything put together, but here are some pictures of our new place! I love it. I LOVE being in a house where we can be as loud and crazy as we want and not have to worry about downstairs neighbors. I LOVE LOVE the backyard. Anyway, you get the point!

Here is the view from the front door:

Another view of the living room (I love that window - so much light in the afternoon!):
These stairs come off the living room and go up to the bedrooms:
Eating area - again, love these windows!
Kitchen and *gasp* PANTRY!
Family room - this one is getting there...

Backyard:
We have been getting lots of yummy stuff from the garden!
Basement:
Side of basement. Most of the toys are downstairs - yes!
Even though you don't get to see the bedrooms yet (they are still disaster zones), I had to post the boys bathroom. We went all out with the frog theme since we already had quite a few froggy things! They love it!
All in all, we are SO happy to be in this house and feel so blessed to have found something so perfect for our family at the right price!
