I will definitely be putting up more pictures soon, but I just had to post this first: today we had some new friends over and, as our kids were wearing each other out (woohoo!) Landon decided that he had to pee and didn't want to go inside. He strategically chose a tree, whipped down his pants and did his business. And when I say business, I mean he not only went pee, but he pooped on the sidewalk. We were just standing there talking, and it did seem like he was taking a long time, but I never would have guessed. He was very proud of himself and I guess it's better than going in his pants right? The funny thing is, if he wouldn't have told me, we never would have known it wasn't just a dog with an irresponsible owner. Who knew we needed to invest in a pooper-scooper for our two year old!?

Grossest Ever. EVER.
I am not one to freak out about what my kids put in their mouths. I don't sanitize their hands when we leave the park and I can count on one hand the number of times I've washed their hands before dinner. Parker eats sand-a lot of sand-and that doesn't even stress me out (usually). We have reached a new height in "gross" today, though. We were at Radio Shack getting a new DVD player and Parker really wanted to get down on the floor and see a robot they had on display. I put him down there and stood up, said something to my Mom, then looked back down to see him putting something into his mouth. I reached down to pull it out and saw-to my total disgust-that it was a cigarette butt. A CIGARETTE BUTT!! Ugh. Could there be anything worse!? I wanted to throw up, cry and pour Listerine down Parker's throat all at the same time. Sick. It was made worse by the fact that Parker's breath smelled like smoke for an hour or two afterwards. I gave him gum and that didn't even get rid of it totally. SICK!
On a better note, that trip also resulted in the purchase of two small remote control cars (one for Landon and one for Bryson). It's Landon's new favorite thing and he can actually control it quite well now! We had to drag him inside to go to bed - he was sweating like crazy and his face was red and splotchy from running around after his "S-U-B" (SUV). He will be sleeping well tonight!

Maui Zowy
This is a marathon of pictures, but we had to let our Daddy know what we've been up to the past few days! Grandma did an amazing job of getting toys for Landon and Parker. The first day, Landon didn't even want to leave the house! I think Bubba could've used a break though :).

Parker and Landon enjoying the backyard.

Grandma and Grandpa caught a frog and a gecko for Landon to see. He started singing the song about little green frogs.

Checking out the fountain at the Wailea shops. Landon totally tried to get in (and almost succeeded).

Landon has decided that he's afraid of flies (because he thinks they are bees). This is him at our favorite burger spot hiding his eyes and crying!

Getting in some good Grandma time.
These are Landon's feet...and yes, I did paint his toes pink...and he loves it.
Even at the beach he can't help but play with cars.
Bryson taught him how to make sand balls. THANKS.
Sandy, tired Parker.
Landon and Bubba.

And lastly, a message for Scott:

We love you and wish you were here!!

Sick!
Parker got sick a few days before we hopped our flight to the islands and his poor little body is still getting over it. Now I'm sick, and Landon seems to be getting sick too. I was going to complain about it, but I've decided that it's way more fun to clean up puke and blowouts while looking at palm trees than sitting at home. Here's to getting better and enjoying the rest of our trip!

Success!
Somehow (don't ask me how) Scott successfully taught Landon to pee outside on a bush. This was so successful, in fact, that when we got home from swimming lessons I turned around to find Landon with his pants dropped peeing on the bush right in front of our door. I'll take it!

Day 1
Scott starts his commute tomorrow, so I needed something to cheer me up. Here's what I have:
We miss you Avery!
Alicia sent the boys a Disney surprise. This is what the package looked like:
Landon's new shirt inspired a GOOD picture - underwear and all. Woohoo!
Parker's laugh always cracks me up. The video isn't the best quality (for some reason the zoom messed with it), but you get the idea:
We're going to miss having our Daddy around, but hopefully this will just make us more appreciative when he's back with us in October. Wish us luck!

Quote of the Day
M: Ok, Landon, it's time to take a really good nap so we can go to the Little Farm when you wake up!
L: Yep! We go to Little Farm and I see a big turkey. Big turkey (motioning that it's coming towards him - his knee specifically) eat me a little bit and I get a bandaid. That a big owie!
Apparently he's still afraid of the turkey.

Changes
You might notice that a lot of our links are gone from the right hand side. We, like so many of you, have switched over to using a reader. Thanks to those of you that recommended it to us - it totally saves time!
Busy, Busy
We've been really busy lately; since we're moving in around 4 months, we're really trying to soak everything (and everyone) in. We went to the Marina for a birthday BBQ with some friends. Landon loved being out there. He played with a roasting stick for over an hour - it's amazing how something so simple can be so entertaining!
I had to post the best picture first - I was trying to take a picture of all of us women and kids by the water, but Landon saw me, started running and...well, you can see what happened. Tristen, Marie and Ashley all look like Charlie's Angels or something trying to save him!!
It took awhile for the fire to get started, but the men pulled through :). This was their solution:
Poor little cold nosed Parker!
As the sun was setting it was just beautiful out! We've got to get out there more often. Thanks guys for an awesome BBQ!
We were able to visit with some of my SF pals this past week too. Kim and Marlow stopped by our place - Marlow is getting so big!
We went with Sarah and Charlie to the Discovery Museum and the kids had a blast! Parker loved the lily pads...and the duck.
Here's Sarah and Charlie - check out his curls!

That makes me happy!
These are my favorite quotes for the day (you might notice a theme):
Preface: Scott and I made cookies last night in honor of the Olympic women's gymnastic finals.
L: (just waking up) Mmmmmm! Cookies! I have a cookie? That would be SO yummy!
Preface: The boys and I go with our friends to the kids gym at the Y so we can work out while our kids play.
L: Mommy, we going to Avee's house?
M: No, Landon we're going to meet Avery at the kids gym at the Y.
L: Oh. That makes me happy!
On the way home from the gym.
L: Mommy, I want my window roll down.
M: Ok, let me do it...
L: *sigh* That makes me happy!
I'll post some pictures and hopefully videos soon :)

Higgity Piggity
We've been watching a lot of 'Sword in the Stone' lately...Anyway, here are some recent pictures. Apparently, 8 months is the most photogenic stage for kids and 2+ years is just not. Every time I try to take a picture of Landon I get this:
Or this:
Whereas every time I take a picture of Parker, I get this:
I can't believe how CUTE Parker is these days. He's always been a cutie, but he's just been coming even more alive this last month (as if that's even possible). Here are some of my favorites:
Watching airplanes.
With Daddy.
Getting ready for church.
Getting really messy!
And my personal favorite, Parker playing with all of Landon's favorite cars while he's not watching. He's really starting to assert himself with Landon - it's so funny! Whenever Parker sits, he crosses his little feet like this. Precious.
As for Landon, this is what he's been up to:
He's been falling asleep in weird places lately. Usually he ends up in his bed by the end of his nap. He's just so excited to play ALL the time!
This is the best potty training picture ever. We had him go naked from the waist down for his first day of training (totally works), but this is what he wanted to wear from the waist up:
Lastly, Parker and Bailey had some quality time together before Carrie left us for Vermont :(.
They stayed like this forever - it was so funny! I don't think Bailey really knew what to think, but Parker was loving it!
I've got a few videos to post on here and some pictures of a few day/evening trips we've taken in the past week or so. Hopefully I'll have time to do that soon...

The Best Of...
We just bought a new potty seat and it's FANTASTIC! You can see it here. It is adjustable and doesn't move when Landon slides around. Now that we're done with pull-ups we LOVE these cotton trainer pants for night-time (yes, we got them in blue, although the pink ones would have looked awesome with his clock).
Best quotes of the day:
"Mommy, look! I have baby hairs on my arms...and my neck! AND my blankie!"
(Sung to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle)
"Landon sitting on the potty! I go pee pee in the potty!"
"Landon eating cheese and crackers! Hmmm-mmm getting a snack!"

Love It
These quotes pretty much epitomize our last few days:
Scott: "Landon, can you please get your fingers away from your bum and eat your dinner?"
Landon: "No Mommy! Pee pee only goes in my potty, not on a tree!"
Landon: "Mommy, look! I went a big poopoo and a little poopoo in my potty! I get a jellybean?"
I will keep working on Landon understanding that boys can go pee on a tree in emergencies...we had to walk home pretty fast from the park :). He's still trying to get little rewards out of me, but so far we've got him hooked on stickers - I guess he just wants something to commemorate his excitement! Three days running and only a few tiny accidents - WOOHOO!!!

Potty Trained!
Landon is officially potty trained (for the most part...). Yesterday Landon had a naked day and it went SO well! He realized that the pee was just going to go down his leg unless he did something about it, so after one mishap, he just ran to his potty! He went all day without a diaper and today has been even better - no accidents! Now he just wants to do it all by himself and he's dang good at it!
We are waiting for some more absorbent underwear to come in the mail (just in case we're out and he has an accident) so until then he's wearing pull-ups when we leave the house and at night. He really doesn't like them, though - he just wants to wear his underwear. Hopefully after the weekend we won't have a need for those pull-ups anymore!! We're just so proud of our little man :).
