Happy Birthday Scott!

Scott, I'm sorry you have to work on your birthday...and that I shoved 11 cookies in the VCR....haha. Seriously, I don't think anyone should have to work on their birthday - it just doesn't feel as birthday-ish. Love you, Happy Birthday - we'll celebrate tonight!!

A few days...

My family is coming to visit this weekend (yeah!!) so I just thought I'd post a few pictures to give them something to look forward to:
Reading Time - you have to read the same book to both of them. Scott and I tried to read a baby book to Parker and a bigger book to Landon, but they were both just interested in what the other one was seeing!!

Sprinkler time - they love it! It probably won't be really hot this weekend, but if it is, you can get in on this action!

And of course, more crazy wrestling. This is their FAVORITE time of day, I swear!

And lastly, a whiny, spitting Parker. How is he SO cute!?!? I love how he grabs his pants and kicks his leg at the end. He kills me!
[the video isn't working, but I'll try to post it tomorrow!]

Death Cab for Cutie

A.MAZ.ING. Seriously, this was a fantastic concert and being in the Greek Theatre made it even better. It's one of the most beautiful venues we've been to and the weather was perfect. Death Cab was spot on - so entertaining. One of my favorite phrases of the night "This is for all you lovers out there.....wow, the word 'lovers' sounded really gross when I just said it, but there's no going back from it now, so I'll just say it again. This is for all you lovers out there". I guess you had to be there :). That preceded one of my favorite performances of the night too "Follow You Into the Dark". If you haven't heard that song yet, you should totally check it out. It was SO nice to be out together without the boys (Thanks Alexandra for babysitting!). What a great night!!

Can you believe this theatre? The seats are all made of stone (they felt great to sit on since they were all warm from the sun!).

Updates

Warning: this is mostly for the grandparents - it is likely that anyone reading this who's not totally in love with our boys will be extremely bored by what follows! That said, here are some fun pictures and videos of Landon and Parker:

Landon reads to Parker in the evening - he's got a few books memorized ("Look Bambi, four 'possums in a tree!") and Parker loves hearing him. Reading time has become a really great tradition for us!

Can you spot the stick bug?

Landon LOVES cookies...and showing us what the food looks like in his mouth.

Crazy wrestling has also become one of the boys favorite things to do. Parker tries to eat any part of Landon that comes close to his mouth and Landon rolls all over Parker. It's so funny to watch them both rolling around and laughing!

Parker likes to eat grass!

Father's Day - really?

With two small kids I find it hard to really give Scott the day off. I did make him a nice breakfast and dinner (and lemon merengue pie no less!) so hopefully the food made up for a pretty normal day of frantically feeding hungry mouths, diapers and spit up. We had a great day together as usual and there were some really sweet moments mixed up in the whole "basic needs" stuff. For example: Landon and Parker laughed their heads off on the way home from church. Landon has discovered that he can really get Parker going by playing his own version of peek-a-boo (which really amounts to ignore-and-then-go-crazy). Parker does, in fact, go crazy laughing when he does this. Then Scott made Landon laugh when he had a full mouth of milk at supper - it sprayed everywhere! The best though: I caught Landon trying to sneak into the "surpise cupboard" (where I keep his potty surprises) and obviously told him that he wasn't allowed to go in there. He replied by looking up at me and saying "Stop it Mommy!". I held a firm face, told him we don't talk to Mommy like that...and then laughed around the corner. One last one: after our walk this afternoon Landon came up to me and said "Mommy and Landon cuddle on the couch?". We did and it was awesome.
So, after all this, I've come to one conclusion: every day is Mother's day, even when it's not. How lucky am I!?

Grandma Kelly

A week or so ago we had to make a quick trip out to Utah to celebrate the life of Scott's Grandma Kelly. The service was really wonderful (we learned a lot about Grandma Kelly in her younger years - she was quite the firecracker!) and it was so great to be around the whole Gunderson family. Being at the cabin in Park City brought back really fun memories for Scott and me - we wish we lived closer!

Scott and Andrew watching the game (actually, it was probably the Land Before Time, but we'll pretend it was something manly like football or basketball).

Parker's happy face. Seriously, could a kid have a better happy face!?

Landon went exploring behind the cabin. He loved having land to roam around on!

This is at the cabin. Quite the view, eh?

Landon loved hanging out with his cousins. They were so great with him! He even slept in the same room as them. Well, "slept" is a strong word...

All of the cousins with Kit Kit and Papa Len (minus our newest niece Ellen - she was sleeping).

Landon and the boys.

Rebecca and Anna loved holding Parker!

Possibly Landon's favorite person this trip was Papa Len. He really had a good time with him. It was so fun to see everyone - we miss you all already!
