Dinner is Served

Tonight as Scott and I were making dinner, we put Parker on Landon's bed to play with the stuffed animals (he loves to grab them and eat them). It didn't take long for Landon to realize that he wanted to be in playing with Parker too. The two of them just rolled around on the bed for a few minutes and then we heard Landon shut his bedroom door. Scott and I discussed how Landon had probably shut the door so that we wouldn't see him trying to smother Parker with a pillow (cue nervous laughter). I went in there pretty quick to see what was going on; when I opened the door I saw: Landon cooking dinner for Parker! Landon didn't notice me right away, so I got to witness him cooking for a minute or two. He went over to his kitchen, grabbed a pan, put his pancakes in there, turned the dials on the stove and then took the pancakes over to Parker. It sounded like this:

L: "Mmmm, pancakes. Here Pahker - pancakes?"

(dumps them on the bed by Parker's head, Parker grabs the closest pancake and starts gnawing on it)

L: "Cut apple - Pahker apple?"

(puts them on a plate and dumps them on the bed with the rest of the food)

At about that point he noticed that I was in the room. When I asked him what he was doing he said happily "Lannen cook dinner Pahker!". So sweet!

I'm a Believer

For all of you who have said it (or thought it), this picture makes me a believer! Parker is, in fact, a little clone of my Dad. I guess his middle name was a good choice!

Why I Love Landon (Today)

1. When we call the nurse advice line and she wants me to put the phone up to him (to get a listen to his breathing) he says "Hi!" "Hi!" in a very raspy, wheezy voice over and over until the nurse says "Hi" back.

2. When told that we needed to take him into the hospital last night, he responds "Mommy take you?"

3. He said "Bye Grandpa" when the older attending Dr. at the hospital left the room.

4. After much patience with the various breathing treatments, I told him that we were finally ready to go home (at 4 am) and go to bed - he hadn't really slept at all the entire night. He responds "Momma, play cars for 2 minutes?". Luckily I didn't have to tell him no since he fell asleep in his carseat as we were pulling away from the hospital.

Those little things make a croupy night bearable :).

Why I Need a 3 Bedroom House

1. Parker, though fully able to sleep through the night, is NOT sleeping through the night because he knows that a warm drink of milk is only a foot away from his bed. Literally, I wake up to him crying, look over and see his little eyes staring at me - pleading for food. We needed to get him out of our room, but the Landon-Parker combination in the other room has been disastrous....twice. SO, Parker is now sleeping in the kitchen. Sad.

2. Did I mention Parker is sleeping in the kitchen??

Boys

Landon decided to help us with our 72 hour kits by lining up our water (and then trying to drink them all).

We watched conference on TV in our PAJAMAS!!! As many of you know, we don't get conference on regular cable so we either have to go to the church or watch it on the internet. Our friends (who have BYU-TV) invited us over for a yummy breakfast and spiritual edification :). It was really great and Landon and James had a blast!

Here's our little guy. He's getting so big!

Soon to come: Cal Day, our trip to the beach, pool time, cars, and steam trains. Have a great day!

Family Fun

We've been up to a lot lately and I haven't been all that good about updating the blog, so here's a quick recap! First, we've been going to a park pretty much daily and Landon and Parker love swinging together (that is until Landon wants to go "really high" and then Parker gets the boot). Parker will sit in the swing for hours - literally. He loves being outside more than anything!

We've also been going to the Children's Museum quite a bit. Landon has always been into the water area, but he's starting to love the crafts area now (especially the paint wall).

Our amazing pal Becca came up from Southern California for a few days - we had so much fun with her staying at our place! One of the highlights was going to the zoo. We always have so much fun there!

Carrie and Bailey came out to the zoo with us - she's been so good about getting out of the house with a new baby. I'm going to miss her a ton when she goes back to work in the fall!

Of course we had to ride the carousel. Landon really wanted to ride the roller-coaster, but he was about a foot too short, so he settled for leopard instead :).

Landon's buddy Charlie turned 2 a few weeks ago! Landon had so much fun playing and, of course, eating cake. Sarah was so great - she let the boys dig in the cake with their fingers! We can't wait to get together again soon (hint hint, Sarah...haha).

It's been really beautiful around here lately, so we decided to visit my old workplace in San Francisco. It was really fun seeing all of my old co-workers (and new ones!) and the view was beautiful as always. I love how Landon and Parker are both looking off in the distance in this picture:

Lastly, we thought we'd leave you with a very flattering video of Scott eating banana pudding. As many of you know, he has a rather large mouth and we like challenging him with huge spoonfuls of, well, pretty much anything. I'd say this even rivals the ice cream video of '04.

Following Suit...

As I've noticed many others changing the privacy settings on their blogs, I decided to change over all of my links to first names instead of last. If any of you who have our names linked on your blog could do the same for us, that would be great!! Here's to safe blogging.

Easter (Better late than never right?)

As you can see, we had Easter flowers and they were gorgeous! Scott and I went to an Optometry event and got to bring home one of the arrangements.

Parker got to play on Bailey's play mat for a bit - he got pretty crazy.

Of course, we had to dye Easter eggs. Landon loved getting his fingers messy and Scott and I competed for best egg...

...which one do you think is best?

Here's Landon putting stickers on his egg:

We made one for Parker too!

We decorated way to many cupcakes...ok, so we actually ATE too many cupcakes.

Landon kept asking for "more birthday muffins!?"

Sunday morning we participated in our ward's Easter program - the music was beautiful. After we celebrated the true meaning of Easter, we came home and had an Easter egg hunt. Landon thought that was pretty cool, although he couldn't figure out how to eat his chocolate bunny.

Here's a little video of Landon's hunt:

A good family pic (I love Parker's skeptical look).
